Library

1. Edit a customizations page in your course (e.g., [Content Blocks]). If you don't have one, create a new page and title it with the exact customizations title in square brackets.
2. In the Advanced tab, open the DesignPLUS Library tool.
3. Find the resource you'd like to import and select the button to add it to the page.
   • Want to preview what the resources look like? Use the gallery page link at the top of the tool.
4. Save the page but do not publish it so that it is not visible to students.

This requires access to a Primary or Extended DesignPLUS customizations course. 

1. Edit a customizations page in your customizations course (e.g., [Content Blocks]).
2. In the Advanced tab, open the DesignPLUS Library tool.
3. Find the resource you'd like to import and select the button to add it to the page.
   • Want to preview what the resources look like? Use the gallery page link at the top of the tool.
4. Save the page and make sure it is published.

You are welcome to import resources and then modify them to meet your needs. For example, if you like a page template you found in the library but want to add or remove a certain section of content, you can import the page template and then modify it as needed in your page.

1. Edit the imported content on your page and modify it however you need to. 
2. For resources that include custom CSS classes (e.g., Link Grid Styles, Themes, etc.) you may want to use a separate page to modify these classes before making changes to the imported content on the customizations page.
3. Save the page.

• If you imported a resource at the course level, make sure you are testing inside the course.  Look for the label "This Course" for your new customizations.
• If you imported at the account level, make sure you are testing in a course that's inside the appropriate account/sub-account.  Look for the label "Local" (for Primary Customizations) or "Extended" (for Extended Customizations). Alternatively, there may be a custom label your institution is using in the [Account Settings] page of the customizations course.

Please consider the following when choosing to import resources from the Library tool:

• The Library tool offers access to a wide range of styles and content. If your institution wishes to maintain certain standards related to style and content used by DesignPLUS, consider disabling the Library tool from the [Account Settings] page so that users do not import unapproved resources to use in their courses.
• Once a resource is imported into your customizations page, it becomes your responsibility to maintain that content if updates are needed in the future. In other words, Library resources imported to your Canvas instance are not dynamically updated or maintained by Cidi Labs.

The ability to import resources created by Cidi Labs and peers is a new feature.  No such library or tool exists for the legacy sidebar.
