About Career Development & Success

The office of Career Development & Success (CDS) provides an array of services to online Rider University students. Whether you need to search for job opportunities on Handshake, receive one-on-one career counseling, or need job search strategies, we’re here to help you accelerate your career.

Handshake

Rider Handshake Logo Handshake is Rider’s online career management system. Handshake allows Rider students to create a professional profile for employers, upload a resume, search and apply for internships, co-ops and jobs, participate in on campus recruiting and sign up for career counseling appointments, workshops, programs and events.

You can make an appointment to virtually meet with a Rider Career Advisor via Handshake. Make sure to specify in your request that you are an online student and the Career Advisor will be happy to set up a phone conference or Google Hangout with you.

Big Interview

Big Interview Logo Big Interview is Rider's self-paced interview practicing system. It gives you both “Fast Track” and “Mastery Track” playlists of lessons and virtual interview practice – to get you ready… fast. Big Interview also teaches you how to get inside the head of any interviewer and prove that you’re the candidate they’re looking for.

Big Interview teaches you how to learn, anticipate, and properly answer the toughest interview questions. Once your answers are planned and refined, you can use the practice tool to make your delivery confident and natural. You can even use Big Interview's built-in feedback tools to get an objective analysis on your progress from mentors, professors, coaches, or friends.

Rider Career Guide

The Rider Career Planning Guide is an important tool to help direct you through the professional development process. In conjunction with career advising, this guide will help you clarify your career objectives, create your Career Action Plan and, ultimately, reach your career goals. This guide was developed by the Career Development and Success team to assist you throughout your experience as a student at Rider. We look forward to helping you on this important journey!

Vault Career Intelligence

Vault provides in-depth intelligence on what it's really like to work in an industry, company or profession—and how to position yourself to land that job. Search current jobs and internships, research a company, school or industry, get the inside scoop on what it’s really like, and find the career advice you need to launch your career.

Candid Career

Candid Career hosts video interviews with industry professionals, who share career advice to help students and career changers as we can all learn from the experiences of others. The site is dedicated to providing the inside scoop and advice on careers via video interviews with industry professionals. With currently 4500+ video clips to explore, their extensive library can help you find your passion and land your job.

Focus 2

FOCUS 2 engages and supports Rider students in the career planning process by guiding them through a series of reliable, intuitive and helpful assessments. These assessments aid students in choosing a major that is offered at Rider, exploring many various professional paths and making informed academic and career decisions to achieve success.

To get started, visit the FOCUS 2 website and select the REGISTER button at the bottom of the page. Use the access code: bronc and setup your account using your Rider email address.

Zoom

The office of Career Development & Success regularly uses Zoom for appointments with online students. All career advising services are available remotely for students. To ensure you are familiar with Zoom, learn more about the tool on the Zoom orientation page.
