Introduction
This module is designed to help you gain a better understanding of the various types of financial aid available to help fund your education. This includes understanding the various types of financial aid available to students, how to apply for them, the pros and cons loan debt, what is an allowable cost to spend your federal financial aid on, and ensuring a deeper understanding of if you borrow money for your education.
Financial aid can seem overwhelming and confusing at first. However, with knowledge comes power and the goal of this module is to empower you to be wise about paying for your education and develop a long term approach that will aid you in fiscal success upon graduation and entering the workforce.
Module Learning Objectives
- Identify the types of financial aid available to students: grants, scholarships, and loans (federal, and private)
- Explain how to apply for each type of financial aid
- Identify the requirements for maintaining financial aid financing (Satisfactory Academic Progress [SAP])
